Milthorpe’s campaign is financially supported by Climate 200, founded by Simon Holmes à Court and defined by the Australian Electoral Commission as a “significant third party.”
Climate 200 is the main financial backer behind “Teal” MPs, and Michelle Milthorpe.
Milthorpe’s campaign manager is a Teal operative who worked on the campaigns of four other Teal candidates in Sydney and Melbourne.1
Parliamentary records show last term, the eight Teal Independents voted mostly with the Greens.2
Farmers and other critical industries get a rebate on diesel that is used off-road.
Many Teals want to end this rebate, which means the cost of farming (and food) would go up.
For example, in March 2026 Teal MP Nicolette Boele strongly opposed the rebate for “users off-road on farms and mine sites”.3
Milthorpe’s campaign was “endorsed” by Helen Haines and David Pocock. Both voted in Parliament (along with other Teals) to repeal the 1,500-gigalitre cap on water buybacks.4
Our region’s economy relies on water security. This is being undermined by Teal ‘Independents’.

In February 2023, every Teal Independent voted with the Greens against tougher laws to stop criminals getting visas.5
In the 2023 referendum, the Voice was opposed by 75% of voters in Farrer.
However, it was backed by every single Teal Member of Parliament.
